Underwriters Laboratories (UL) was invited to test our Hazloc-rated displays, Keyboards, and monitor-mounted KVM Extenders for Class I, II, and III, Division 2 hazardous locations and Type 12/4/4X environments (Type 1 for Rack Mount Displays) and we are pleased to report that we now offer 182 industrial products that are rated by UL for hazardous locations!
Model by model, we have been transitioning from traditional CCFL backlights over the past few years, and we are happy to announce that we are now using LED backlighting in all Hope Industrial Systems monitors and touch screens except for our 20″ models, which will be converted later this year.
Many industrial environments have invisible airborne substances, like dust and moisture, that can damage electronic equipment. There are other less common substances that are found in specific industrial environments that can be even more damaging. Sulphur is one of those substances. Airborne sulphur uses moisture in the air and is corrosive to the copper and silver commonly found in the conductive traces on circuit boards, in LCD circuits and resistive touch screens. All of these components are found in the construction of an industrial lcd monitor.
We are excited to announce the release of a new revision of our 12″ Industrial Panel Mount Monitor. The new version is thinner, lighter, and has a higher operating temperature of 60°C (140°F).
Complementing our existing 22″ and 23″ widescreens, Hope Industrial Systems is pleased to announce the addition of a 19.5″ widescreen option to our popular Panel and Universal Mount Industrial Monitor product lines. Our smallest widescreen to date, the new 19.5″ models will provide a widescreen format in space saving enclosure sizes.
Our current keyboard line-up is based on two basic keypad designs: an Industrial Full-Travel Keyboard with an integrated Button Pointer, and an Industrial Short-Travel Keyboard with Touchpad. The NUC (Next Unit of Computing) from Intel is a small single board computer kit made by Intel and intended for use in any location where a small, cool, and energy efficient yet somewhat powerful computer is required. Intel intends for the device to be used in most any application ranging from digital signage to industrial/commercial kiosks to home entertainment. We’ve had a number of customers ask about suitability of the NUC for use with our industrial touch screen and workstation products, so we thought we’d get our hands on one and take a look.
HDMI is one of the most common video connectors in the market. This standardized connector offers tremendous versatility, supporting digital video, audio, and even network traffic on a single connector. The availability of multiple connector sizes for different sized devices has quickly made HDMI a standard feature in many consumer and business devices from phones and tablets, to laptops, to thin clients.
